Sun Fire 3800/4800/4810/6800 with firmware 5.15.1 (patch 112884-02)
The described issue is likely to occur if a domain is utilizing firmware 5.15.0 or 5.15.1 and configured in any of the combinations below:
-
900Mhz CPUs with a 2.2 CPU mask
-
900Mhz or 1050Mhz CPUs with a 2.3 CPU mask
-
A combination of 2.2 and 2.3 CPU mask CPUs in a domain
To identify the current System Controller firmware version, use the "showsc -v"command from the platform shell.
To identify the CPU mask of a CPU, please see the "cpu_mask" in the "showboards -v -p cpu" command output (from the platform shell).
Note: Domains will not be affected by running these commands.
Symptoms
Should the described issue occur, the system encounters a performance degradation.
Workaround
There is no workaround. Please see the "Resolution" section below.
