Impact
A platform specific firmware issue on the Sun Fire T1000 and Sun Fire T2000 systems may cause systems to halt abruptly, resulting in a loss of service. Certain system events which should be resumable are incorrectly handled by firmware, causing the system to panic. A hardware failure may be incorrectly implied, leading to misdiagnoses and unnecessary FRU replacement.
Contributing Factors
This issue can occur on the following platforms:
- Sun Fire T1000/T1000+ systems with firmware prior to 6.1.11 (without patch 122431-04)

- Sun Fire T2000/T2000+ systems with firmware prior to 6.1.11 (without patch 122430-04)
- Sun Fire T2000/T2000+ systems with firmware prior to 6.2.4 (without patch 123482-02)

sc> showhost
System Firmware 6.2.4 Sun Fire[TM] T1000 2006/08/18 12:37
